Christmas Break

I didn't have a chance to take photos, but I got the first layer of shading completed. It did not go well. Both patience and a light hand are required for shading, and neither come naturally to me. Madonna looks a little bit like a ghost, Jesus is alright though.

Over Christmas break I am working on getting my left hand to coordinate better with my brain. So far my left-handed drawings could pass for those of a 1st grader. In addition to the aesthetic difficulties, I am finding that it causes me an unexpected amount of stress to use my left hand for detailed tasks. I also end up hurrying through them because it is frustrating. Long story short, I need more right brain practice. The examples below are my left and right-handed attempts at sketching a playing card. The left-handed one is a little scary. Also, sorry for the poor image quality, I had to use my webcam instead of my camera.
