| A Family Coat of Arms made in High School |
Right now, I am in college, learning about everything related to history and historic forms of art that I can get my hands on. Unfortunately, for the time being at least, the lion's share of my classes are dedicated to attaining credits I only need to graduate. On the other hand, I have a beautiful cathedral and a mansion within a ten minute walk from campus. The two of them are full of medieval art, and both have an amazing staff.
I plan to learn lots of new techniques and skills, especially in the glass painting area, as the term continues, as well as some historical facts about them.
For example: it is a myth that glass changes shape due to gravity over time.
A possible origin of this belief is that old glass was blown and shaped in wheels before it was cut, as a result the glass was not of a uniform thickness, it got thinner as it got farther from the center.
I hope to use this blog to not only share some of my artwork (and to be realistic, you are probably going to see a fair number of pictures of my pet goat and any baby animals we get) but also to document some of the more interesting parts about farming and stained glass.
